Pilot Sites
Role of the pilot market
As a pilot market the community will serve as a home for the
PROMETHEUS Payment® model to develop in such a way that
it will provide ample feedback and substantial lessons learned.
The market will encourage further growth and clarification
for deployment on a much larger scale in the years ahead. Information
gathered will be analyzed and distributed in a variety of outlets
such as toolkits, meetings and forums and website outreach
initiatives.
Pilot market sites will be eligible for some financial support
during the three years of pilot implementation.
How to become a pilot market
In order to be considered for a pilot location, we ask that you
contact Francois
de Brantes.
The implementation of PROMETHEUS Payment® does not require
collaboration among multiple payers in a market, nor does it
require financial integration of participating providers. What
PROMETHEUS Payment® does do is encourage clinical integration
among those providers that are willing to cooperate to better
improve their care delivery processes and efficiencies. The
voluntary participation of local stakeholders is crucial to
pushing this
model forward.
How the PROMETHEUS Payment® model will be implemented
in pilots
The implementation of the model calls for payers in the pilot
site to “plug into” the PROMETHEUS Payment® model
Engine. The Engine is a combination of claims tracking and financial
accounting system, along with a scorecard that uses both claims
and other data, including medical record data, to measure the
quality of care that is being delivered to patients. As a result,
payers and providers will not have to modify their existing claims
systems to accommodate the implementation of the model. Instead,
the Engine will work through the tracking of the ECRs® in the
background and inform payers and providers.
Attached is a description of the Engine's
functionality.
