Evaluation

The implementation of the PROMETHEUS Payment® model under the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant includes an independent evaluation of the program by the Harvard School of Public Health and RAND. The Design Team has believed from the inception of the program that it would be essential to engage in a formative evaluation to assess the process of implementation and provide feedback to the Design Team to refine the program. It will be a systematic, formal consideration, and will include some quantification of interim results, to permit recalibration and reconfiguration of the program as necessary. To enhance the ability to conduct such an assessment, Elizabeth McGlynn of RAND and Meredith Rosenthal of Harvard have been on the Design Team from the beginning to assure both that the essential points of assessment track to the Design and now that the project is moving to implementation, that production of appropriate data on which to conduct the evaluation is part of the implementation itself.
