Michael Taylor, MHA


Michael Taylor, MHA is a Principal in Managed Care Delivery Systems in the Towers Perrin Boston office. From 1990 - 1993, Mr. Taylor was Director of Managed Care at John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company. He started his career with the Health Insurance Plan of New York where he was a hospital administrator and health plan manager for their largest medical group in Queens, N.Y. He built and operated health plans during his four years at Travelers Health Network where he was National Director of Development and Planning. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology from Kings College London, a Master's Degree in
Biochemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration from the State University of New York. He has taught extensively at The Wharton School, Philadelphia, St. Johns University and Queens College in New York City and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He has been a faculty member of several AHIP educational sessions and made numerous presentations to audiences at conferences and business meetings. He wrote the chapter on “Employer View of Managed Care” in The Managed Care Handbook – 4th Edition, published by Aspen in 2001. He contributed to the development of the URAC Consumer Driven Health Plan accreditation standards released in May 2005.
